Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness – Book Review

Monsters of Men is the final instalment in the Chaos Walking series. After fighting the army of The Answer, the Mayor has another enemy to worry about — the native species, known as the Spackle. Meanwhile, Todd is doing everything he can to make sure Viola, his best friend, is safe. When the Mayor begins to struggle fighting the Spackle forces, he must make some difficult decisions to ensure the safety of the people of New Prentisstown.

Out of the whole series, this book is my favourite. The plot twists were unexpected and made the big book very gripping when it came to the major events in the novel. However, this book is quite a long one, meaning that I took a while reading it, and I found that at some points it dragged on a little. The ending was a little abrupt and I felt as if  I wanted to know what happened to the characters afterwards!

If there were more books in the series, I would definitely read them because I have really enjoyed reading the trilogy and I think that it is such a unique concept.

My next blog post will be City of Bones by Cassandra Clare – I am really enjoying it so far and I’m looking forward to reviewing it!
